CO2 COMPASS : for climate neutral municipalities 2035
Following the 2015 Paris climate agreement climate neutrality must be achieved by 2035. The CO2 COMPASS aims to enable municipalities as key actors to achieve this goal to reduce their CO2 emissions for direct energy consumption – electricity, heat and mobility – to net zero by 2035.
The CO2 COMPASS cornerstones: Generating the necessary funds through a municipal climate contribution, monitoring involving citizens and businesses, participation at the digital and personal level and support for the successful implementation of the climate protection concept.
The sustainable data platform enables the consumer-based data collection for the individual self-control and local government action driven by valid bottom up data. Target is the joint and transparent implementation of climate protection by citizens, business and the community. The platform intends to articulate data driven demands for national and international framework conditions.
