CNB standard for certified building data and their exchange
The sdp CNB standard for certified building data and its exchange comprises the CNB methodology, certification based on defined key indicators (initially KPI-USE), and an API (initially CNB-BUILD) for data exchange.

The sdp CNB standard for residential buildings, housing estates, and prospectively connected neighborhoods enables the cost-effective collection and secure exchange of key data between building owners, scientists, platforms, and interested citizens. The standard supports the EPDB, national requirements, promotion, and the development of high-quality national building databases.

The prototype development is based on the planning and evaluation of NRW solar and climate protection settlements since 2000 and the establishment of the sustainable data platform (sdp) since 2020. The open methodology with the concept of EU data protection standards, data minimization, data quality, data donations, and decentralized server structures allows a rapid dissemination.
The sdp is a codex-based D-A-CH network of housing companies, science, energy agencies, service providers, industry, and manufacturers. The building application CNB-APP-BETA has been in testing since 2022.
